In 2017, the Foundation joined Project Hospitality in its efforts to create affordable supportive housing units on Staten Island.

The primary purpose of the program is to create and maintain affordable housing units for low-income families, low-wage workers and disabled and elderly Staten Islanders. The Foundation’s support will assist Project Hospitality in developing two affordable housing projects, 411 Vanderbilt Avenue and 1540 Castleton Ave-nue. 411 Vanderbilt Avenue, scheduled to open in November 2017, will offer 16 units of affordable/ supportive housing for homeless persons with a priority for disabled Staten Island veterans. 1540 Castleton Avenue is projected for com-pletion in March 2018 and will provide 12 beds for runaway youth ages 14-21. Once completed, the location will provide transitional housing for youth for up to 2 years.
